Chapter 2
Christine got up the next day and Spooky her dog and the other dogs followed her around the house and than all the cats joined in as she went and checked the rooms her friends where using the staff had made the beds up and put clean towels and gifts sets in the bathrooms, home made candles where in the holders and each friend had a different one to what they like
Ruth had one the shape of a man penis that smelt of man
Anna had one of a tech head and looked like Dinky
Carol had a relaxing pink rose one
Yvonne had one the shape of lavender
Janet had one that was made to look like James May
Gillie had one that was made to look like a box of paints
The gift sets and candles where made at one of the local craft shops and Christine was sure that her friends will love walking around it and seeing all the new things
Each room would have a basket of fresh fruit and flowers on Saturday before there got there
Christine was just going down stairs when her phone rang
“Hello Chrissie”
“Hello Gillie everything is ready for Saturday”
“That what I am phoning about could we come a day early as we have everything covered this end?”
“Yes of cause you can Anna and Ruth will be here Saturday morning as I have a car picking them up at the airport”
“Who have you got picking them up?”
“Matt and he is new and very good looking plus I have the Rolls Royce back so they won’t know what hit them”
“We have not met him yet have we as I know you had one called Jamie and he was cute?”
“Still have Jamie but he is busy on Saturday doing a wedding in the village and he is using the open top Rolls or he would have picked them up, you get to met Matt when you come”
“That good will we get the Rolls as well. As we are all going to met up and than travel the last bit together”
“Yes you will and I will make sure you have the Rolls just let me know what time you get here so I can make sure he at the station for you”
“Thanks we can’t wait have we got the room we had last time?”
“Yes the rest of the room are all done now and I have the go ahead to open in the New Year, plus I have loads of conferences booked so I am going to be very busy”
“Not to busy for our trips to London
“No I will still have my trips to London
“What ones have you got?”
“A load for the states that we can’t get over here spent the last 2 weeks putting everything in the right order”
“OCD that what you have”
“No I don’t just like things in order”
“We will let you know what time we get in on Friday and we can’t wait, better go the boss has just come in,”
“Bye Gillie and blow him a kiss from me”
“Bye Chrissie and it not that boss it the ugly one”
With that the phone went dead
Christine went down to her office and phoned the village to ask for four flowers and fruit baskets to come on Friday, which there said they would do.
Christine went and did a load of paper work and than spent the rest of the morning interview people for the conference centre and booking rooms as she had loads to do with the rest of the estate.
Found a nice man called Adam and he could start in a week time, he was very high in his last job but the city air was not doing his asthma any good.
Christine showed him the room that he would live in as it was above the garages and showed him round the hall and told him a bit about the history of the hall
Christine than spent the afternoon phoning all the people that did not make it though the interview,
Betty brought Christine some sandwiches and the menu for the next week when her friends where here.
Betty had lefted the evening meal blank as she knew that Ruth loved to cook and had got loads of food in ready
Christine thanked Betty and than went back to work she really did need a PA now that her Uncle had gone.
Christine wiped her eyes as thinking of Uncle made her cry and she knew he would not like her to be up set he had a good life and the heart attack was something he knew he would have one day as he eat all the wrong food, drink far to much when he had people round and smoked to much, but he would never listen to anyone even the doctors
Christine was all ways telling him of for the drinking and smoking and he did cut them right down, but he would still eat junk food on top of what he had at the hall as was seen many times in town eating fish and chips or burgers.
